October 2018 – Current
Cardno is providing support to the Namibian Ministry of Health and Social Services for cervical cancer prevention service implementation in antiretroviral therapy sites, in partnership with Jhpiego. The U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), recently issued a directive to start providing screen-and-treat services to all HIV-positive women aged 30 years or older as soon as possible on a biannual basis. In an effort to support this directive, partnership works to provide training of providers, which includes visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA) and cryotherapy. The training is based on Namibian National Guidelines, World Health Organization standards, and Jhpiego-developed training materials.
