Overview: The Pink Ribbon Red Ribbon Ethiopia Partnership is among CDC Ethiopia, Federal Ministry of Health Ethiopia and Pink Ribbon Red Ribbon Secretariat, including Pathfinder and Grounds for Health as implementing partners. The partnership aims to increase demand and access to quality cervical cancer screening and prevention services to women, especially those living with HIV/AIDS (and receiving anti-retroviral therapy) in target regions (Oromia Region, Southern Nations and Nationality Peoples Region, Harari Region and Addis Ababa). It also supports procurement of commodities and supplies and training of health workers to ensure visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA) screening, cryotherapy and Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP) screening and treatment services are available to 10,000 at-risk women at 22 additional health facilities. The project fits within the Ethiopian National Cervical Cancer Prevention and Control Guidelines and is aligned with the Ethiopia Federal Ministry of Health’s plan for comprehensive provision of screen-and-treat services across Ethiopia.
